Hawke's Bay Youth Alcohol Expo 2019
This years Hawke's Bay Youth Alcohol Expo was a great success with students from across the region participating in the activities on offer. These included the students being taken through the road side sobriety test. This is what is used to determine if a person has consumed alcohol or drugs. Students are also taken through the Evidential Breath Analysis test which is undertaken road side, generally in what is known as the booze bus. This is an important part of increasing road safety for us all.
Students are also able to participate in a scenario that follows 4 young people who plan a road trip that results in a crash. The 'walk through' demonstrates how quickly things can change and results in a fatality and a court appearance by the driver.
